Is the first most honeymoon attracted area where it is known as hill stations .Munnar got its name because of confluence of three rivers Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers. Munnar has a varieties of flora and fauna . It has a variety of protected area like Eravikulam national park, kurinjimala sanctuary, Indira Gandhi wildlife sanctuary. Neelakurinji (Strobilanthus) flower which only bloom once in twelve years are mostly found in munnar.Munnar is also having a loveable cool weather and it also has a vast expanse of tea plantations. Munnar also have a large wild life ,valleys and mountains which make Munnar most attracted for honeymooners.
2. AlleppeyIt is also known as Allapuzha and mainly known for its backwater beauty. Alleppey is the most important tourist place in Kerala. A houseboat cruise is the main attraction of Alleppey .Honeymooners also have a great interest on houseboat stay .Other major attraction is Allapuzha beach offering one of the most beautiful views of Laccadive sea. Krishnapuram palace also attract many tourists and Ambalapuzha sree Krishna temple and ambalapuzha payasam is also very famous. Alappuzha is a landmark between the broad Laccadive sea and a web of river flowing into it.The resorts in Alleppey is also so beautifully build.
3.ThekkadyThekkady famous for Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Sanctuary is famous for its dense evergreen and it is a tiger reserved sanctuary. The main attraction of periyar is the herds of wild elephants, deers, bisons that come down to drink water from the lake. Trekking, boating or by jeep safari sanctuary can be accessed. Thekkady is considered as a heaven of natural spices like black pepper, cardamom, ginger ,clove.
4.KovalamOne of the most beautiful beach which is greatly attracted by the tourist. Kovalam is located in Trivandrum city facing Arabian sea. Kovalam means a grove of coconut tree .Kovalam is filled with coconut trees .Kovalam is again separated by big rocks into three other beaches which are
• lighthouse beach-The attraction of this beach is an old light house because of which light house has got its name and these beach is frequented by tourist.• Hawah beach-These beach is most commonly known as hawa beach, eve beach These beach creates a unique beauty on moonlit nights.
• Samudra beach-These beach doesn’t have much tourist attraction but have a great attention for fisherman.
5.KumarakomOne of the other beautiful place in Kerala that is main attraction of tourist located near the city of kottayam. Kumarakom is mainly known for backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of vembanad lake ,the largest freshwater lake .Kumarakom bird sanctuary is a noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit. Kumarakom has a wide variety of hoseboats,and known for its houseboats which are used only for tourists now a days. At the time of onam houseboat race is very popular in kumarkom.
6.WayanadOne of the most beautiful and protected area and Wayanad is also known as’ The land of paddy fields’. A part of western Ghats is in the district .The verdant hill station is full of thick forest, plantations and wild life. Chembra peak is the highest peak in wayanad district and other attraction is Edakkal caves and the other one is kuruvadweep which is a protected river delta on the kambini river and it is also a dense forest with very rarely found flora and funa. Wayanad is the district with very least population
7.BekalThe largest fort in kerala is situated in Kasargod district which is now a point of tourism. Bakal fort face Arabian sea.Bakal is a very beautiful fort which is well preserved.Bakal was build in order for defence purposes.In the year of 1992 bakal was declared as a special tourist area and latter it was transferred as international tourist area
8.VagamonVagamon is a hill station located in Kottayam – Idukki district. Vagamon has a cool climate and it is also listed by the national geographic traveler as ‘50 most attractive places to visit in India’ that we should visit.Vagamon was found out by British for tea plantation. Vagamon is also home for large varieties of flowers and orchids. Vagamon has amenities for trekking, paragliding, mountaineering and rock climbing .However Vagamon is greatly influenced by tourism.Vagamon is at the fringe of western ghats.most interesting think is that of paragliding and paragliding festivals.
9.VarkalaVarkala is a coastal town in Trivandrum district. Varkala is the only place in southern Kerala where we can find cliffs adjacent to Arabian sea.Varkala is also famous for an old janardana swami temple and is also refferd to as Dakshin kasha(benares )the temple is also situated close to papanasam beach which believed to have holy water which wash away all the sins and also an important ayurveda treatment center. Paravur which is 13km away from varkala known for its backwaters, estuary and beaches. Other important places are kappil lake, varkkala tunnel, anjengo fort.
10.Poovar IslandsThe most popular tourism destination in Trivandrum district .Vizhinjam ,a natural harbor located near poovar and it also has a estuary which connect with sea during high tides .Poovar is rich with timber , sandalwood , ivory and spices.The meaning of the place is flower-poo and river-var and was named by Marthanda varma. before place was known as Pookkumooapuram. Poovar is a beautiful place to enjoy honeymoon.
